The Sunday Picture Show... (7-24-2016)

No time for taking a fancy picture tonight and my camera is needing replace for focus issues.

Here is a pair of Pre-Factory 105 Pathfinders. Top is Lignum Vitae, probably about 1956 or so. The bottom one is later with an Ebony handle and has lost about 1/8" of blade width over the years. The picture is poor but the lower knife has been attacked with a buffer...... you take these knives any way you can find them....

I would keep the bail. It certainly adds character. I remember a post from a sailor who said the machine shop on the ship would add a bail to any knife. It reminds me of the Navy issued colonial survival knives that had a bail.

I started with all three of these brand new. I finally stopped using the middle one, she I realized it was no longer a locking knife.

Thanks for sharing... We all love lots of pictures and 110's ☆☆☆

:)

BuckShack, those are awesome 110's in the drop point. That is my favorite. I got my custom knife shop 110 for the kitchen, to cut up the kids' apples. IMG_3033.jpg

Thank you Ed. I really like your 110 too. That wood and drop point blade with no nail nick looks really classy. Congrats!

Maybe it's me, but I feel like a drop point can apply a little extra force when needed. I like that. Even the largest Apples tremble when they see my 110s coming for them. :D

Stumps, I wouldn't take the bail off. Someone put it on 47 years ago. That's a long time! There must be a story behind it. We may never know, but that's where the imagination takes over.

@Stumps- my vote is to keep the bail. It invokes some imagination, where filling the holes left will be cause for some explanation.

Okay...I heard you three and for now will leave the bail on the 110.
I would love to know the history of this knife and many others I have.
A homemade bail on a nearly 50 year old unused knife would be a story I would like to hear about.
