That's a nice 186 ITE!! Thanks for getting another SPS started.

I've talked about a 124 I have that was confiscated by Buck back in 1973 in another thread here on Blade Forums a while back. This Sunday I'm showing that and a 110 that sitflyer might be interested in. :)

These are two of my favorites...mostly because of their stories, but also because they are awesome knives from 1973. The story I got goes like this; The 124 was secretly being made and customized by a Buck employee. He was found out and the knife confiscated. The next year Chuck sold the knife to one of their employee knife makers who was the brother-in-law of Buck's shop foreman. It has the red/burgundy handle that was used on a small number of the 124's in 1973. The blade profile is also much different than the stock 124's.

The 110 should be of special interest to sitflyer. It was a pocket-meld knife almost 40 years before the now famous "sitflyer pocket-meld" knives of today. The 110's story that I got from the former Buck foreman's brother-in-law is that Buck let a few employees work on their own knives on their own time in 1973. This 110 was made in the Buck factory by such an employee. The special part besides that fact is the knife itself. It's a 5th/3rd 110 from 1973, but rather than use the normal Macassar ebony wood for the scales, red/burgundy Micarta was used, no pins used and they had the forty year forethought to use sitflyer's pocket-meld to thin the whole knife down for pocket carry. :)

Here they are. The red/burgundy handles on both don't show their true color very well in these pictures taken with my iPhone.

The 124 came complete NIB including the sales receipt to the Buck employee I talked about above. The 110 came to me as knife only. Both were bought by me from that former Buck employee.

Here is the 124 next to a regular black Micarta handled 124 from the same era. Notice also the different blade profile on the confiscated one on the bottom of the picture.

This picture shows the pre-sitflyer pocket-meld thinness of the 110.

I'll have to post a wildlife photo later because I think this post is long enough already. :)

And for the wildlife photo this week (I figured my post above was already picture heavy, so I'm posting these here)

I ran across these two buggers while I was out backpacking. They hadn't spotted me yet.

I zoomed in on them here.

Old hunting pic.

Not quite a Buck, but close. It has skinned one deer. BG42 with Moose antler.

Kind of a slow SPS this week, so I thought I would add a few lesser seen Buck Knives products and hopefully get the show moving.

First is a Buck wallet.

Next is a Buck tool belt satchel.

Thanks Stumps, and thanks for all of the pics of the seldom seen products. One day that old 110 will find the right deer and it will be put back in service.

A comfortable knife to carry:

The show is a little bit slow today so how about a second knife.
