Good morning Armand, morning gents. I'll stick with ITE's 500 series theme this morning. OH

I don't have much in the way of 500s, but I did pick up some custom 300s with mammoth slabs. The top is a single blade 307; in the middle is a 311 with a crack I hope is stabilized; and the bottom is a 312. The 307 is from the old Buck Custom Shop and the other two are by W B Cody. All of them have mirror polished blades.

My camera is on the fritz so repeats again this week. Since we started the show this week with Armand's 500 series knives, I thought I would make my contribution with a 503. This knife is called "Purple Sunset" and has inlays of a bonded stone called Chryscolla (Chrysocolla). I think it is a quartz-copper sulfite mineral. It can be found it in the 2002 catalog but my blade has a 2003 date code.

I found this nice Jigged Buffalo / Cherrywood 501 at a gun show. . I inquired as to the price and asked if there was a box/sheath to go with it. He said he didn't have the original box but had another Buck box & sheath he thought it would fit in. I paid the asking price... $35. First bonus.... he handed me $10 back. Perhaps I didn't hear correctly....old man ears. Second bonus...he came up with this 110 box and sheath for it.

Another 501 for the show. Am I the only one who is always bothered by the BUCK snaps that are not straight?

Beautiful knives and great pictures!

Great start to a great SPS. I love the 500 series knives, most likely my favorite series outside the 900's, but the 500 series are much easier on the wallet than the 900 series Buck knives.

Bert, I really like the looks of your 3 x 300 series Bucks, especially that single blade 307:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Desoto, I'd be too busy admiring that nice stag on your late 80's 501 to notice the snap on the sheath. Sweet 501:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Here is a cool 704 I just received earlier this week, quite happy with this little slip in mastodon

Somewhat keeping with the theme:D:D:thumbup::thumbup: 500, 501, 503, 505

Can't forget some 501's:D:D:D:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Keep the great pictures vcoming:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

And here is a picture of a Turkey Vulture that landed on a post just behind my place yesterday. I see these guys flying around our place all the time but rarely see them land on anything.

Your comment got me looking at the snaps on my sheaths - most all are not straight or horizontal. Here is a photo I took of two 1978 era Buck Sheaths (a 110 vs. a 317) - both have the snaps aligned vertically.

The 500 series is one of my favorites as well.

Old Hunter - Those smaller 500's in burgundy micarta are getting hard to find. I think the smaller 500 series knives were knives that were used and carried around in pockets and therefore hard to find anymore.

Here are a few 500's in stag.

Since this seems to be 500 series day, here is my 503 - a little worse for the wear. I gave my 501 to my son...
