The Sunday Picture Show... (8-23-2015)

Thanks Armand for getting another SPS up and off to a good start.:thumbup::thumbup:

I am still not settled in after my trip, so more old Buck knife photos.

Here are two long discontinued Buck knives….a 531 and a 535.
The stag makes these two extra special!

My wildlife photos this week are of a grizzly that I didn't get too close to when I was out west last month. :)
Seems an elk was brought down by wolves, then the large grizzly took over the carcass.
A smaller grizzly came along wanting to eat, but every time he would start getting close the larger grizzly faced him and flexed his dominance and displeasure of the smaller one being near.

You can just make out the ears of the smaller grizzly waiting patiently in the grass in this photo below.

I got to watch the large grizzly covering up the elk carcass with dirt.

I was glad I wasn't camping near there. :)

These are amazing. The stag is beautiful and the polishing sets them off!
The pictures are breathtaking. I love the wilderness. I have a great respect for our natural environment!

There are some beautiful knives on here. I am going to have to dig some good ones to add to this weeks show. You all are inspiring me as to how the beauty of an instrument can be!

A great bunch of knives today for the Greatest Show. Thank You ITE for starting it once again. More pictures of my 650 series with bead blasted blades, Oxide coating removed and Black Oxide Coating.

Stumps .... I know we don't (yet) know one another but I also wish you well in recovery and glad your trip was not a total loss. Great pictures, knives and nature. That stag is outstanding, got to be my favorite handle material,
Believe it or not I've been throwing Buck darts at a Buck board for at least 20 years.
Sitflyer .... Real nice 110, The pins are a real nice touch, don't see that often.
hkingdom ..... I didn't realize Buck ever let any sawby locks out, other than the first club knife. As I recall we all had to sign releases for Buck to let us have those. Nice collectors knife that is.
Cvovilla ..... Your knives are very impressive indeed, OUTSTANDING. And inspiring. Yours and others here have inspired me to do some mods myself, something I used to do many years ago.

To that end.

So ..... I had to leave my mountain hide away last night and stopped at Wally World for some things. Wound up in sporting goods some how, Go Figure. Any way, Can you believe they can sell a Buck 110 for less than $28.00. I can't buy one from a distributor for that price. They were all blister pack, but the guy ask me if I wanted to look through the stock for a particular handle. I told him it didn't matter as the first thing I was going to do was rip the handles off anyway. He looked at me like I had 12 eyes. Anyway ...... Picked up a 110.

Then after church this morning I stopped to get the epoxy I forgot last night and went to breakfast too as I don't get to town that often. Got home around noon and spent the day in my shop doing this 110.

A 110 for less that $30.00 - that's nuts.

THE FINISHED PRODUCT. Not exactly what I was looking for but I like it none the less. It's white pearl but looks blue due to spacer. Didn't realize it would be quite that translucent.

It was a fun day in my shop, rained all day anyway. And not too shabby for the first try in 20 plus years.

A couple more pics of the 110 I modified today. So much for a life time warranty.

And wildlife. These does stop by my backyard a couple times a day to eat the apples falling out of the tree that's inside the fence. The fawns can't jump the fence yet so they have to stay outside while the moms eat all the apples. As long as I stay at my work bench they come right in to munch. Sometimes they are 10-12 feet outside the garage door of my shop which is open this time of year.

Here she is making eye contact with me to see if it's Okay to jump over the fence and join me.

SURE HOPE YOU GUYS DON'T MIND MY SHARING MY WORK HERE

THANK YOU, it was a good day to play in the shop, and am quite pleased with the outcome too.

That sure dressed up that 110. You would never know where it came from. I like the translucent quality of the handle and think it came out beautifully.

My 2009 Vantage Pro that is in my pocket most days.

A Skink that I found in my wood pile. Notice the wood shavings from the pine beetles hopefully the skink was eating the beetles.

Here's my meager 560 collection. A 95 and a 98, then a custom shop one in BG42, which I think I had done right around that same time period. Wish they'd let you keep your old blade. I've carried the BG42 one on a lot of deer seasons but the thing still looks brand new. The other two have never been carried. That was back in my even more dumb than now days when I didn't see the need to take up space keeping empty boxes. Lol. That and I was still in the CG and we moved around a lot. I should maybe watch the auction site to see if I can score boxes for them.

For everyone posting in the August thread today. Guys, you have done nothing wrong and have great pictures. But, it is my obligation to point out you normally don't go back and post in a old thread when a new one is available. No answer necessary, just pointing out something just a little out of level.. 300
