I think you two are talking about two different knives in the same picture......leather is a Marble's Woodcraft and the Micarta is a Buck.

Ah, yes.......I just looked at the post above the question.

And yes, the actual knife in question does look like a rather odd Micarta handle that was made to look like stacked leather.

I guess it's style thing. Some of the stacked leather handles were problematic. Micarta solves that while keeping the look of stacked leather.
