Thanks again, Armand (ITE)

ah ha ! I have a pict worth showing

this one was made by Dan in the Spa shop !!
it has a custom blade and is made exality like the ""salesman samples""
note this type of knife is refered at the factory as a "demonstrator "
and is not called a salesman sample by any one there.
some how I think us collectors should use demonstrator also

this one came from Mrs. Wood's office she got it from a supervisor back in 1980 (?) and it has been on her shelf all this time ... I seen it 5 years ago when she asked me of some of the other 110 knives she had
it was the first year of the custom blades but ... I have not looked in to the year they come out
Joe was surprised she let it go ! I think she donated the funds to a charity ...

well to the best of my knowledge from things I seem to have heard some time ago
they were requested by salesman as they were asked all the time how does it work
the first had no side on one side and were sharp
folks got cut- now not sharpened
then they added Lucite to one side like D rig's but it would crack if flexed
then they did both sides with Lucite
the new one by Don has Lucite on the one side
the one from Mrs Wood has both sides
I seen the one D rig posted and it is a early one befor the I have with two clear sides
They were made by repair shop as I understand it tell the custom shop opened up
then when it closed back to the repair shop or SPA as we like to call it now ..
Master (respectfull bow) LEROY makes a fine looking one from
built proof Lexan and these you can use every day !
I would NOT use one with Lexan nor any older ones
I would use the ones from Master ( respectfull bow west ) LEROY
note they also have made one that is inside out
but I don't have pictures of it as some one out bid me on it

Very nice knives 110 Dave... I need a Demonstrator now... Thanks for sharing on the SPS...

Here's mine salesman sample I got from a ex-Buck-employee that worked for Buck for 26 year... Her name is Janet... I bought all her knives and this was one of them...

Salesman sample...

:)

well well that is a nice Demonstrator also!
I can see that they used different blades all along!
lol I am glad to see the term demonstrator is catching on !!
every time I use the term sal__ sam__ they paused and looked at me
Joe Houser consistently used the term demonstrator when he spoke of that type of knife,,,
