The Sunday Picture Show... (9-25-2016)

Sunday Surprise

Early this Sunday morning, a USPS truck surprised me when it stopped in front of our apartment patio.....he delivered my second Buck knife!:)
Then late this afternoon I found this "Sunday Picture Show" thread. Although I'm still learning how to take photos of my knives, I thought I'd join in.

As I have been looking for my next Buck, I very often came back to this 722 Gray Spitfire folder I first saw a few weeks ago. The blade length is 3.25", and the knife carries my favorite "look" -- a silver/gray blade and handle combination. Perfect! So I've been checking out several BF discussions on it, liked what I saw/read, and took the easy plunge to add this new Buck to my case. Here are my yet amateur photos.

Have a great day!

Nice choice! I love my Spitfire, it's slender profile first nicely in my jeans pocket, and a great blade to boot.

I'd like to say collectively to you all that every post today has had some really great knives!
On a side note, I'm glad I ran across this forum where I can share my collection with people who understand my obsession.
Over the past two years when I bring home a new Buck I get the "that's nice dear" from my wife (without looking up normally). She is a sweetheart but just doesn't get it haha. It's just nice to be able to share with you all!

Head over just after thanksgiving for Buck sale at factory. Awesome

My latest Frankenbuck...

A 110 Selector with high traction blaze orange G10

It's not as easy as one might think. Getting the bushing oriented properly was the challenge. I made a jig for the next one though...

I still have a little work to do, but she'll be ready for deer season. Anyone have a skinner and a drop point selector blade they want to part with?

This is an easier job if you replace the pivot pin with a #5X40TPI cap screw. Put a Helicoil in the right hand bolster and counter bore the left hand bolster to accommodate the fillister head. Being able to squeeze the slabbed pivot bushing by tightening the screw keeps the slab properly oriented.

Hello everybody sorry that I am late to the show, but since Armand started this show with an advertising knife I am going to post an early one.

Next Sunday I will have to post some pictures of knives that are just now starting to see the light of day again. It is like Christmas all over again coming across some of these that have been put away then life got busy and where forgotten about for a time. I just have to get the pictures taken. See you all next week. HL

Thanks for the tip tiguy! I'll keep that in mind for the next one.
