Makael, that is an elegant take on the classic Bowie knife - just perfect! OH

After posting the picture I was watching TV and looking at the handle off and on. I noticed that tang was tapered and the guard is soldered.. I don't own more than this one. Do these two items point to when the knife was made approximately? I've seen soldered guards before and tapered tangs but i don't have any info about when Buck was doing this.

sassafrassdogs3, you've shown a knife here I know nothing about. I fished one out of the bay earlier in the year but never got around to researching. What do you know about it?

Hi DeSoto,
I'm just learning about it from DOGPOUND77. I got one like this from one of the upper management employees of Qual-Tech. I'll have to go back in the archives and check the email but I believe they were issued to SEAL Team 5. He got this knife from Mickey Finn himself who he worked with designing this and the Buckmaster and the Phrobis M9. I'll do some more checking to see what I can find out and let you know.

Apparently there are two versions, CUK and MFK. I checked and have an MFK, I guess that was the civilian retail version??

I don't think the MFK is civilian? The MFK I have also came from an upper management employee of Qual-Tech. Two different people two different knives. The only difference I see is the marking on the sheath and I don't know about the extra finger guards for the CUK?
