The Sunday Picture Show... (9-9-2018) . . . (OLD Show Look At The DATE...

Two 119s. I just noticed a couple differences. Screw pommel 440c version blade grinds are comp, lately different than the Ats34 119. I kinda get the handle would be longer on the 440c version due to the screw on pommel.
Interesting blade designs for essentially the same model.
Plus the weight difference.
440c 8.1 oz
Ats34 7.3 oz

The 440 version is definitely longer and feels much more robust.

Great SPS folks, as always. Thought I'd add a little leather this Sunday.

View attachment 982283 Here is another permutation of the 30yr. BCCI Reunion Aluminum 110. The handle inserts are olive drab linen Micarta. The blade is custom made from Stellite 6-K. The blade is approximately 50% Chrome and 50% Cobalt. This material is used to coat the edge of bulldozer blades and steamshovel bucket teeth for wear resistance. The heat and corrosion resistance makes it suitable for the fuel injectors of rocket engines and the fabrication of Sodium cooled valves for racing engines. Tool bits made of 6-K can run red hot. The stuff is quite expensive, and nobody has any for sale in small (knife making) quantities and sizes.
The hollow grind on this blade was not very deep, so I had to remove material to get my desired edge angle.

I was wondering though a rural country flea market Saturday. The kind of place that sells as many ducks and chickens as other items. Surprisingly, I came across this...

You guys are posting some beautiful Bucks, that I can’t compete with! I hope you don’t mind if I throw this one in the mix. It’s my edc 112, in 5160 steel. View attachment 982662
I think that is a great looking 112. It shows honest use and well earned patina, not abuse or rust.

SPS is for ALL Buck knives, not just the purdy ones....

I'd argue that that the patina on this 112 makes it 'purdy' in it's own right.
