The Sunday Picture Show (April 30th, 2023)

I've been out all day. What a pleasant surprise this evening to see how well the SPS carries on.
I'm always in awe of the artful knife images you guys produce.

wonderboy1377s wonderboy1377s What a wonderfully attractive lure.

C Chilebrown Thank you for showing the 1995 George Wachington 110. I was hoping you would come thru. Now that you have the Titanium 110 in hand, was it worth the price of admission?

B BennyBlade jmh33 jmh33 The topo 110 is one of my favorites. When SMKW had them they sold out fast.

Happy SPS everyone, evening edition

Hello and welcome to the Sunday Picture Show. Share your Buck knives with others by posting pictures of them here. New or old, plain or custom, user or safe queen, one or a collection, we love to see them all. This weekly tradition was started in 2010 by ItsTooEarly (Armand Hernandez) and Oregon (Steve Dunn). Help keep the tradition alive. Feel free to click that 'LIKE' but lets not let it replace discussing and complimenting each others knives. Above all, enjoy the show. DeSotoSky (Roger Yost)

April 30, 1789 Inauguration of George Washington as first President of the United States
Washington was unopposed in the election
New York, Rhode Island, and North Carolina had not yet ratified the constitution and did not participate in the vote.
1790 census, 2,400,000 free and 600,000 slaves
Washington's formal education was at the grade school level

In 1995 Buck produced a gold etched 110 with a George Washington theme. That one has eluded me.
Buck (Camillus) 329 Freedom Trapper c.1985.
I have a note saying 5,000 of these were made but do not recall the source.
There are variations of the Pledge. What do you notice about this one?

Dose not include the words Under God. I believe yours here is the original and under God was added in the 20th century?

Hi All, Happy SPS. Thank you Roger and each of you who post to his weekly events. Great show you folks have going, I have enjoyed each photo and comment.

I'll add to the George Washington theme by adding a 110 & 916 with the Rushmore image that includes G.W.

Dear DeSotoSky, I will try to answer your question with out offending too many people. The simple answer is yes. I posted this knife on Facebook also. I had more people tell me that it was too expensive and they would never buy it. That is fine and thanks for your own personal opinion. Buck knives have always had a price point below other brand names like Benchmade and others. Buck is trying to raise their price point using techniques like M.O.P. I still believe Buck is a good value knife. This knife can be bought at a discount using the BCCI rate. It also seems this knife will have a low production number because of the price. I wish Buck had serialized the blade. This knife is a happy addition to my ever growing Buck 110 collection. Yes, it was worth the price of admission.

To each our own. Personally I'm "into" cutouts. I view my Buck Knife collection as being an "Art Collection". That viewpoint influences not only the type of knife I buy but also the condition.

What model knife are you showing as the "and one more"? The one with the two diagonal handle inlays. I'm drawing a blank. (post #27)

Also, who did the Cabela's 914 with the micarta handle? (post #28)
I've no idea of the model #.
I know that blade was offered as an employee only knife during the 80's. And I've seen variations including D-guards.
The COA doesn't offer up a model #, and looking thru some of the old Custom Catalogs turns up nothing.

The 914 was a build out done by Joe Houser.
I have 5 variations of the Buck 914.
I don't have any of the advertising versions of that knife.
I know there was a Leinenkugels version.....
