Thank you Roger for the SPS and the education. My dad was the ship’s doctor on a Destroyer in WWII. Many of the crew wanted elective circumcisions. That procedure didn’t rate a Purple Heart, but they nicknamed dad “The Yankee Clipper”. The second time their ship, the USS Cassin Young, got hit by a Kamikaze on 8 August 1945 about 1/4th of the crew were casualties: 22 dead and 50 wounded. The ship is now a museum in Boston berthed next to the USS Constitution.View attachment 1893187
Today’s pic is a Model 186 Titan which has been converted to a Selector. The TiAlN BuckCote blade has also been modified to Selector specifications.

@Pony_Hernandez I'm sorry, I had no intent to be political, it is just history, sad for all sides involved.

I can't quite make out the date on the medal. Is it a WWI Iron Cross 2nd class?
Does Germany have a medal equivalent to the Purple heart?

Happy SPS everyone! There are some really sweet knives today! Here is one of my favorites, the 302 Solitaire. Oddly enough I have been growing purple peppers in my garden this year. My solitaire worked these veggies over on my desk at work. A great knife that needs a comeback!

I got two peppers this year off a plant I rescued from my uncle's place that was dying. cause he won't water....hes from west Texas and fears his well will go dry and refuses to water plants...

no purples though.....havent run i nto that breed yet....

Thank you Roger for another great Sunday Picture Show! Thank you for the lesson on the Purple Heart, there were a few things in it that I didn't know.

I have to say there is really something special about the 103 with a clip point. I'll have to be on the lookout for one or save up to have one done.
