The Sunday Picture Show (August 8, 2021)

A couple of my working Buck Knives; a 103 and a 118 in a picture taken during a deer hunt last year or two. Seasons coming up, about time to check out my pack and touch up the edges. OH

Thank you Roger and all who post and comment, making this thread so enlightening every Sunday and here lately on going though much of the next week.
I have used a 103 skinner for much of my processing game animals through the years. I love it's looks and utility. It's always a part of my kit.
Here are a few...

Here are a few more 103's.

The damascus one is a sample with a blade that was made for Buck by Charlton Ltd who makes and supplies damascus products.

Thanks everyone for posting, and DeSotoSky for hosting.
This103/603 is special to me. It was given to me by a friend who worked at the rubber injection facility in 1989 that Buck was contracting with to do the rubber injected handles. This 103 was given to the injection facility as a blade blank to have the handle put on as a test.
Note the blade was unfinished possibly just out of heat treat, with a rough sharpening.

(repeat) A pre-factory model 110 Skinner shown with a factory barrel nut model 103 (110?). I'm not sure when the name change from 110 to 103 took place. The late 50's group 10 model 110 has an ebony handle and the spacers are leather. Looks like the pommel has been trimmed. When you find these early ones you take them any way you can. I would date the 110 to about '56-'61 and the 103 '62-'63 so they are not far apart chronologically. My understanding is that the extra spacers in the pommel were not a standard feature but used to make up length in the handle when things came up a bit short during assembly.

Another show behind us. Thanks to everyone who shared their knives. A 103 theme and no twinsets.... huh.
Please return for the next show but until then feel free to post and comment here.

Next Sunday is the 15th of August. Checking back in history the Pilgrims sailed for America in 1620, The Wizard of OZ premired in 1939, India gained independence in 1947, and Woodstock opened in 1967. Pretty sure Buck did not do a commemorative knife for any of those events so how about we see some 300 series Buck knives that fold. Everyone should have one of those but please remember, ALL Bucks qualify for the SPS. /Roger

Seeing so many odd 103's both blade profile and handles was a treat! As time goes on I'm drawn to Bucks other than 112's..But I haven't quite decided if I want to collect any specific model. There's still a lot of odd 112's out there I want to find. My budget is thankful I didn't start with old Custom shop or pre 1963 Bucks.
