The Ascend 715 jogs my memory. It was an exclusive for WalMart. A employee/buyer for WalMart, (he posted on here as @emw479), worked with Buck to design/create that knife. If you search posts by him or the earliest posts about the Ascend 715 you can find some comments by him about it. Wonder if he still works for WalMart.

addendum: I did some checking on @emw479 and his posts were active about 2014 to 2017. Interestingly his profile said he was last seen in June 2024 so he has been lurking for the past 7 years? I'm wondering if this post will draw him out for a visit.

Those were really nice little knives for the price. While I didn’t have one I did by one for my son and second oldest daughter for Christmas of 2016 or 2017.

The Constitution might never have been ratified if the framers hadn't promised to add a Bill of Rights. The first ten amendments to the Constitution gave citizens more confidence in the new government and contain many of today's Americans' most valued freedoms.

Since I started this weeks picture show talking about the Constitution....

The SK Blades Maverick. I like that the micarta handles are not polished or slicked up. The texture is sort of suede like. Nice and grippy. I have several knives with micarta, but none with this texture. Buck should do more of it.

Just figuring out how to drill a lanyard hole in the 110 and I was worried I'd miss the frame block under the bolster that holds the spring bar. I used the Smokejumper as a template! I'm so smart: Nothing could go wrong!! 🤣 Well, I know better than to consult the experts here. What do y'all know?!

It actually worked out just fine, but the toe of the pommel did spread a little because that hole cut about 50% vertically down the brass pin in that corner. Still, it's as firm as it ever was, but there will be dirt and gunk in there in days to come, so I may epoxy that gap at some point. In the meantime . . .

This particular 110 was one of the WalMart nylon sheath/clamshell pack sale models for about $25, so I'm happy to use it as a practice platform.

Edit: It's a 2015 [•
