Ok, now I'm going thru the drawer of 110's, and came across this forgotten 5160 version.
Back when I got it I was a bit disappointed that the g10 was polished.
So I sorta put it away in disappointment.

Looking at it now,I like it!
It's different. These brass 110s can look so good!

Anyways, just sorta had to share that moment.🙂

Nice knives today.
Thanks DeSoto for doing this every week!

625. never was a popular knife, but I like 'em.

know nothing about the 110 says Houston chronicle club 500 on the handle. has a boot on the blade and idaho stamp on blade as well. cool 110 version.

This is the oldest Buck I own, that I still have. It's a well-worn, now-retired, model 501 that I bought at the submarine tender in Holy Lock, Scotland. Was doing a refit there as part of the blue crew on the SSBN 628, Tecumseh. The year was about 1978 plus-or-minus.

Years ago I sold Gold Bond Vinyl Siding (1987-90). These Buck 110 Folding Hunters were a customer promotional item - I was never given one for myself. Couldn’t believe it but 8 or 9 years ago I saw one pop up on eBay, looking pretty grungy. I bid on it and got it, cleaned it right up, it is a cherished memento of those days now. I do take it hunting and have cleaned deer with it. OH

That is awesome. I bet the knife outlived the vinyl siding. 😀

I keep my eye on some jobs I sold in those days (to include the blue vinyl siding I installed on my own house back then). The product was a high end product (high titanium dioxide content vinyl at 42 MM thick - not the junky stuff known as a builders panel). It all looks good, even the blue hasn’t chalked (oxidized) yet. We had a good product but too high a price to compete on a price basis. Over the next 30 years I think the knife will win though! OH
