The Sunday Picture Show (February 21, 2021)

I love seeing all these 474's and 475's. Here is my 475, it may be plain but it has a mirror finished edge. It did not come with original Buck sheath, and I have been looking for one. If anyone has a spare they would part with PM me.

(repost) The other Buck Caping knife. The model 474. This is an Alaskan Guide Series knife done for Cabela's. It's a beautiful and unique knife and must have been an exclusive for Cabela's as this is the only example of this 474 pattern being used that I know of. A rosewood handle and a nice glossy black titanium nitride coated blade in S30V steel and as found on all knives in the Alaskan Guide Series. No model number or date code is imprinted on the blade. I found this knife listed in the 2008 special projects list with a build quantity of 1,000. I find it hard to believe that they built 1,000 of these as this is the only one I have ever seen. It's a tiny knife, just like its 475 Mini Mentor sibling. Too small for my big hands, probably perfect for jbmonkey jbmonkey . What differs it from the Mini Mentor is the Choil/Tang area which is formed for a choked up hold. A related knife is the 477 Caping Knife with a guthook. The last picture shows a 475 Mini Mentor, a 474 Caping knife, and a 477 Caping knife.

Roger, That AG is really cool.

My white one is bone with hammered copper rivets and no year or model #.

A few nights ago I was watching Swamp People. There was a new lady hunting alligators by the name of Liz.
They scanned by the front of her boat and there was a Buck 110 opened up so I grabbed a pic showing the knife. It was season 12 episode 2.

Some Swamp People trivia... Liz first appeared in 2010 and has 90 episodes under her belt YTD, but when the production company producing Swap People was changed in 2015, Liz and others were unceremoniously cut from the show. Which was too bad, because I enjoyed her badass self hauling up big gators that I know I wouldn't be able to haul into the boat.

Ok, back on topic... looks like I'll be on the lookout for a 470, I had no idea they existed, just like these Gen5's that I picked up after discovering their existence from a SPS.

I really like this one. The Copper Bucks were a real innovation and I'm really glad I found a factory one. I was lucky enough to get a Custom by Joe Houser and I'm sure not many will ever be made because the total amount of Copper frame 112's is less than 150..20210131_104601.jpg 20190407_205348.jpg 20190407_205925.jpg

I don't think I have ever seen a 532 Copper frame for sale anywhere. The Carbon fiber handles look unique too I could have swore that the blade was S35VN..

Build outs can be any blade, any handle and any frame material. The leftover BCCI 532 copper frames etc with any 532 blade steel. BCCI copper version had carbon fiber and s35vn
