John Wayne's final film. A dying gunfighter spends his last days looking for a way to die with a minimum of pain and a maximum of dignity.
Born Marion Robert Morrison (1907-1979) he appeared in 140 films spanning the period 1930 to 1976.

If you hadn't already guessed, this weeks starter is a John Wayne themed limited edition made for Franklin Mint. Listed on the 1997 Projects List but no build quantity was given. I made a quick glance thru the 1997 Newsletters but found no mention there. I vaguely recall seeing the handle shield in silver also. Can anyone verify that? The handle is checkered Walnut and the frame deeply engraved Nickel Silver.

Good Morning Gents. I've always felt the Cocobolo/5160 Frontiersman deserved an upgraded sheath. I think these make a fine pair.

This one is a little of an odd duck. Blade marked "450", but interweb searches for Buck 450 turn up a completely different knife. 112 paperstone handles. Man/boy/fish "shield" .
