The Sunday Picture Show (February 27, 2022)

Thanks John appreciate the information.
I am curious as to how Leroy adds Selector parts to a metal frame. The Selector pivot flat spot has to be immobilized at the 6 o’clock position so that the blade can be inserted and not pop out during normal use. This is accomplished by molding the pivot post into the Valox (plastic) frame. A blade can only be added to the handle when it is at a right angle and the rocker is depressed. I added the slot and the flat spot to the blade in this picture. Buck did not make BG-42 Selector blades.View attachment 1754153

Leroy is a great guy, drop him a line and ask. The information I shared with you came from our missing in action EEE. He posted one of the best looking 110 Selectors I have ever seen with Mastodon scales. When I inquired about it he gave me the tip that I would have to supply a Sellector body for the parts too Leroy.

The current Take apart 110/112s make it a non-issue as a blade swap only takes 5 minutes now and any blade Selector or standard can be used.

Only 4 questions. Who is missing in action EEE? Who posted one of the best looking 110 Selectors? Who gave you the tip about supplying a body? Can the Take Apart 110/112’s utilize the new/current Selector blades?

The drawing for the brass frame selector can be found on the BCCI model history page in the customer designed stuff.

The bronze bushing has a flat side and is soldered to the pivot pin in that specific orientation prior to assembly.

No... new version selector blades done work.

I made one once upon a time. It's around here somewhere, I think.

ETA: EEE = Evil Eye Ed, I think

EEE = Evil Eye Earl, is the answer to the first three questions TG7

You answered the forth question on post #17, so not sure why you are asking a question you already answered (very nice photos by the way).

Sorry Roger. You're our SPS leader until WE say you can retire. It's your fault that we like you so much. :)
This^^^^ You're like the Buck knives we love...forever!
Maybe a poll to determine topics and/or how they relate to Buck knives. "None of us is as smart as all of us."...Ken Blanchard.

OK, some of the mysteries are being solved. Buck never made loose slabbed bushings. When you cobble up your own, it must be oriented and immobilized. Leroy does it with solder. I do it by clamping the modified bushing between 2 handle slabs. The factory knives orient and freeze the bushing by molding it into the right hand handle (1st pic). 2nd pic is a slabbed bushing about to be clamped between the scales of a Model 186 Titan. Silly me, the flat spot is supposed to be at 6 o’clock not 12 o’clock.View attachment 1754910View attachment 1754911

I see Leroy at the blade show. He has made some custom 110 blades for me out of CPM S-110-V steel. I agree that he is a great guy and a great asset to the BCCI. His custom knives are on a different level.View attachment 1754951

Wow!!! Lots of beautiful knives.. Good to see that everybody's still hanging out. Roger you're doing such an amazing job... Glad you took over for me... Hope to get back on here soon to share some pictures of a few new knives I've gotten. Nothing too special, just special to me... I've been spending a lot of time with my grandkids. And it's been great... Take care
