Hello and welcome to the Sunday Picture Show. Share your Buck knives with others by posting pictures of them here. New or old, plain or custom, user or safe queen, one or a collection, we love to see them all. This weekly tradition was started in 2010 by ItsTooEarly (Armand Hernandez) and Oregon (Steve Dunn). Help keep the tradition alive. Feel free to click that 'LIKE' but lets not let it replace discussing and complimenting each others knives. Above all, enjoy the show. DeSotoSky (Roger Yost)

Old and new together. Here is a pair of 118's almost half a century apart. Like a lot of us, it's gained a little weight with age.

A sambar stag 440c, a pre 86 phenolic, and a recent brass and wood.
I prefer the look of the older blades. I feel the newer ones make better users.

Those old fold over sheaths look great.

I gifted any of my 118 users.
Those phenolic 118 420hc knives are great all purpose hunting / fishing knives.
Too bad they stopped production on them.

Thanks.

Roger, thanks for hosting the SPS! Thanks also to those who post and comment to make the show so terrific.
I have stated before that the 118 was my first Buck and have grown to love it. It is has been for years my most used and carried fixed blade.
I have gained a few(118s and pounds;)) over the years...here are some select ones.

Good Sunday morning to you knife nuts

I was just trying to take advantage of this quiet Sunday morning to get some work done on my laptop, and of course I had to wonder on over here to see the picture show. Next thing I know I’m digging a few favorites out of the knife chest to take a photo. Today’s presentation includes:

The Vanguard – it just looks good, well balanced and fun to hold. I have to get one with a pretty wood handle next.

The 500 – the only one I have, love the size and “pocketability” (if that’s a word) of this knife.

The SwissBuck – also the only one I have. Truth is it lives in the box cause I don’t want to ruin it. I have enough user swiss army’s that this SwissBuck should remain pristine. I picked this one up at a flea market in Las Vegas. I specifically remember going through a box and the (disorganized) person at this both seemed to have no idea that there were a bunch of SwissBucks in the bottom of this box. Her prices were ridiculous otherwise I would have bought them all!!

Have a great Sunday, thanks for the great Buck pics and stay safe

Good morning SPS'ers. Wow, you guys have really upped the game with picture quality and presentation. I have about 1500+ old images I had posted when we were on the old forum. Back then 800X was about all it could handle. Those old pictures like the ones I used today just don't cut it in comparison.

Looks like Aryan29 is late to the table again... 2 weeks in a row... tsk tsk.

Good morning folks. Happy Sunday. Here's my latest. It's a 110 made from 1920 Model T parts. The frame was CNC'd out of a leaf spring and the wood is from the corners of the frame.
Pit and polish. The front bolster, stamp side, shows the impression made by the leaf spring above it.

Beautiful knives today. What is the criteria for choosing the horns/antlers for scales? I have a promise to pick and choose from a "pickup truck load" of deer antlers for an attempt at making some 501 scales. What should I look for?

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Have a blessed day,

Here are some more MOP ChinaBucks to keep bucksway's company. 382 Trappers. Shown are White, Yellow Lip and Black Lip. I'm going to check but my recollection is that if the white ones had a shield they were polypearl and the ones that did not were actual MOP.

I've never made scales but thinking about the 501, they are very thin and flat so gnarly with a lot of topography probably would not work. Look for some with flat areas of good color and interesting surface pattern. I personally prefer both sides to match so keep that in mind also.

Here is a 501 with stag handles. You might try searching the forum for other images to get some ideas of what to look for. Also, don't forget to get some props for all the pictures you will be posting here in the future...we're gonna need pictures as proof or it didn't happen.. :)
