Great pictures everyone!

A quick way to tell the difference between a Schrade 303 and a Camillus 303 is to look for pivot pins—pivot pins are visible on the Camillus knives, but not on the Schrade knives, which used the Swinden key design. Buck had difficulty with the Schrade knives—with a lifetime warranty, blade replacement became a big problem—since Buck didn't have the machinery to deal with the Swinden key design. If Buck couldn't repair the knife they were stuck with replacing it and that was costly. Buck tried repairs by using a pivot pin, but that was time consuming and a poor repair. After a dozen or so attempts to to use pivot pins, Buck gave up and just replaced the knives. The 301in the photo is a 1st Version Schrade knife with the pivot pin repair.301 V1,v1 repaired.jpg

by the way: The 503 is not ground down, it fits into the frame as it is possible. Is that the first blade shape Buck used for these knives?
