I was in 2nd grade when Kennedy was assassinated. The principal made an announcement over the PA system. Thanks for hosting the SPS again Roger
JFK was assassinated when I was three years old. When I was 11 or 12, I remember people saying they remembered where they were when they heard the news. I was puzzled as to how anybody could remember their specific location, and what they were doing, on a day that seemed like ancient history. Forgot all about that until 9/11. After that, I understood. I'll always know where I was when I heard about the attacks. I was in Papa Joe's restaurant in Lincoln, Missouri having breakfast. Once it became apparent that multiple planes had crashed, my first utterance was, "We're at war."
Its good to remember this day, the heroes that went in, the folks in the buildings and on the planes just going about their business, and unfortunately, the hatred that brought it about.
I don't have any commemorative or patriotic themed Bucks, so I'll post this Slim 112 carbon fiber because its pretty View attachment 1927421

Huh. I was in the 2nd grade as well. We were sent home from school early and I wasn't sure why.I was in 2nd grade when Kennedy was assassinated. The principal made an announcement over the PA system.
IIRC I was also in the second grade, at a parochial school. I remember all the lay teachers and nuns crying and we were also sent home, I recall confusion about what was happening. I do remember seeing Jack Ruby shoot Lee Harvey Oswald on TV in the aftermath. OHHuh. I was in the 2nd grade as well. We were sent home from school early and I wasn't sure why.
Hmmm, let's say you graduated in '70 and you are 70?Uncle Timbo B brianv
Old Hunter You were all young'uns. I was an upperclassman.... Mrs Degmans 5th grade class.

I watched Lee Oswald getting shot on live TV..On 911 Kathy was watching TV and woke me up when the first plane hit. I was watching live when the 2nd plane hit and left immediately to go to WinDixie for supplies. It was a madhouse! But folks did pay pay instead of looting. I had a very full cart and when I got to my car there was a big dent on the side (probably from a full cart that got away from a shopper.)
I filled the gas tank and went home quickly. Kathy's sister Brendan's plane got diverted to land in Chicago and she had to rent a box truck to try and make it back to WV. No cars were available. I was really upset our president made sure his Saudi's buddies got permission to fly out when ALL Americans were grounded. 15 of the hijackers were Saudi's..Money buys lots of powerful friends..
