The Sunday Picture Show (January 15th, 2023)

thanks Roger for hosting. thanks y'all for the pics. great stuff as always.....

today is a new one for me, and one everyone seems to dislike but me........its the best slicing and lightest weight wise 119 built ever in a larger run. thinner stock and ffg. only thing that could make it better would be a full width tang setup like a 124.

I probably would have grabbed one, but I already had the phenolic flat grind 119.
I like flat grind knives, and I like the edge I can get on 420hc.

I no longer get excited with premium steel and the price that goes with it.

I can cut anything I need with this.☠️

I just wanna retire.😁

Buck Knives 110 Folding Hunter from 1988, promotional item for buyers of Gold Bond Vinyl Siding - I sold that siding back then. OH

I have one of those too. was a c&c run if i remember right? also wasn't real.popular and hung on for a long while. the thinner stock and ffg makes these special. really great slicers.

Thanks Roger for sustaining this Sunday tradition and to all you contributors for doing your part.

I retired from a bearing manufacturer but never had a ball bearing flipper... I do now!
Found this smooth operator in a pawn shop a few days ago at an almost absurd low price

B bucktool "The 360 BuckTool had an innovative folding handles."

I vaguely recall that the reason for the side swing handles was to get around a Leatherman patent.
Is that true?
By the time I started collecting these most of the history was forgotten, or the employees had left. So most of the info came from Joe Hauser, and he only had limited knowledge of the project. As I understand it patents played a part in the BuckTool demise.

Roger, thank you very much for continuing the great Buck Sunday Picture Show!
BCC! 112 fixed blade 2023 b.jpgBCCI 112 fixed blade 2023.jpgI took advantage of the new BCCI 112 fixed blade with bare head elk scales that are for sale. The first Buck of 2023 for me. In a way I suppose this is a grail knife for me. I've really wanted a bare head 112 or 110. The elk scales are just icing on the cake!

got this import folding saw..works well, but prefer Buck would make one stateside.....
Jesse, it sticks in my mind there was a 3 piece kit with the pruning saw, pruning shears (720), and the Camp Axe (757) but could find no reference for it.
Anyone ever seen one or know what I'm talking about?

sure there was, but I dont know. this one I bought solo......from a close out type sale...of old stock.

Is that a factory Custom?
That is nice!
The handle profile seems slimmer....
Someone did an incredible job on that.👍
Thanks, Gary, Leroy did this for me some years ago. He said that he did the finger grooves in the manner of the old custom shop, it is thinner than current production.
Here's a poor photo that shows the stag 110 with another 110 that Leroy did with a BG-42 blade and a slim profile compared to a 2005 OEM finger groove

Just don't remind everyone when I get my micarta handled Vanguard I've been wanting... That just so happens to come with a premium steel.😁

....I saw the price and thought "ouch".

😎
