wouter1967 wouter1967 Great picture and I like the shield tag in the corner.
I would have pushed the date range for 4-dots thru 1985 ending with the introduction of date codes in 1986.

Thank you for your input and kind words Roger.
I see what you mean. Let me explain how I thought the dating worked.

• 4-dots with square handle 1981-1983
• with slightly rounded edges 1983-1986
• with fully rounded handle 1984-1986

Do you mean to say that even the square handles were made all through to 1986?

wouter1967 wouter1967 I'm impressed. Clearly you have given 110 dating more careful thought than I have. My narrow focus was only on the tang stamp. I know 110 frame radiusing has been discussed here in the past and I've surely forgotten anything I ever knew. Don't recall if I ever saw specific dates associated with frame radiusing. Not my picture but the word "NEW" refers to the addded feature of radiused edges. Might be a good subject for a new thread of it's own. /Roger

I'm not sure whose notes these are, but I found them in my file with a date of 2011—that doesn't mean the original was 2011:

Eighth Version, (3 variations) Blade material 425 modified stainless

Variation 1. (1981) Left hand stamped BUCK, **110**, U.S.A., stainless rocker rivet and spring holder, one front and two rear inlay rivets.

Variation 2, (1982-1983) Same as variation 1 above except handles have hand radiused edges but no radius in the thumb depression area. Finger grooved model introduced.

Variation 3, (1983-1985) Same as variation 2 above except handles have full radius edges.
