The Sunday Picture Show (January 5th, 2025)

Starting page 2. I've posted this before. There are 12 different model numbers all sharing the same 1-7/8" blade and locking system as the 525. They are the 425, 505, 506, 507, 515, 524, 525, 526, 527, 529, 825, 826. The 283 Nano Bantam might be the 13th. I picked one up on sale for cheap but it is still locked in the clamshell so I've not had a chance to check it out. The thing I hate about Buck's clamshell packaging is there is no way to non destructively open them.

L to R 506 White Knight (resins have yellowed with age), Stag c.2000, Damascus c.1998, Micarta, Idaho Stamp, Snow Leopard c.2000

Happy SPS! Thanks to Roger for doing this each week.
I'm barred from going out today because of the blizzard that's upon us. Apparently these 2 or 3 inches of snow are too much for me to go out and do some deer or duck hunting. But it's not too bad out to go get coffee. I don't understand...lol

Thank you Roger DeSotoSky DeSotoSky for four great years of SPS 🥳🎆

I've wondered if the 283 Nano had the same blade/lock. The size and shape of the blade looks right, but comparing it the posted pics, the grind looks different and it has a little sharpening choil. The only pic I have of mine:

The pic I took for today's show. Five for five twenty five :D

Thanks DeSotoSky DeSotoSky for hosting this every week! I almost always learn some interesting information, and always see some amazing knives! And as much as I like your collection this week, you probably should have just posted one of them (1 525)… just sayin’! 😆

I have 224 for this week…

I’m a day late posting; yesterday involved getting ready for, traveling to, and spending all afternoon and evening at, then driving home from our Great-Niece’s wedding - so I never even looked at this thread. Speaking of weddings, I bought this little Buck Alumni gentleman’s knife to carry at my oldest daughter’s wedding about six years ago, it was blue, flat, and small - all I needed for wedding carry. OH

Welcome to the Sunday Picture Show. This show marks the beginning of my 5th year as your host.
It is an honor being allowed my turn in carrying on this forum tradition now starting its 15th year.
Thank you for your support and hope you have enjoyed the show as much as I have bringing it every week.

For the first show of 2025 falling on the 5th day of the New Year I have some random 525 Gents.

What's the story on those Klein knives?

What's the story on those Klein knives?
Thanks for noticing  I'm going to copy a post I made back in 2021 and you will know as much as I do.

Here is a very interesting 525 Gent it took me a long time to find. I found the plain one without the decal in 2013. I finally found the Indy Race Car version this month. This knife can be found on the 1995 Special Projects list with a build quantity of 25,000!!! Hard to believe. The interesting feature is the tang is not marked Buck but rather KLEIN/TOOLS/USA so you will not find one searching for a 525 gent. Also there is no date code. The image is an aluminized decal, like the wildlife ones we are used to. If you have ever had one you know how soft and easily dented the decal is. I do not know the story on the plain one, the decal was either removed or just an error or blade over run.

apparently, klein sponsors indy car racing... more popular for lineman / electrician / plumbing tools... still see klein knives at the supply house but they are all pretty low quality import variety....
