Hello and welcome to the Sunday Picture Show. Share your Buck knives with others by posting pictures of them here. New or old, plain or custom, user or safe queen, one or a collection, we love to see them all. This weekly tradition was started in 2010 by ItsTooEarly (Armand Hernandez) and Oregon (Steve Dunn). Help keep the tradition alive. Feel free to click that 'LIKE' but lets not let it replace discussing and complimenting each others knives. Above all, enjoy the show. DeSotoSky (Roger Yost)

On this day... January 8, 1815. The Battle of New Orleans
The final battle with Great Britain in the War of 1812. In two hours of battle there were 2,000 British and 65 American casualties. Unfortunately the battle did not have to take place and had no influence on the outcome of the war because a treaty had been signed several weeks prior in Belgium, but news travels slowly by boat. The official end of the war was in February when the treaty was ratified by Congress. In short, the War of 1812 was over increasing American expansion and influence. The British hoped to seize New Orleans in an effort to expand into territory acquired through the 1803 Louisiana Purchase by the United States from France. General Andrew Jackson's successful defense and rout of the invading British forces helped launch him to the US Presidency in 1828.

This week I have a model 475 Mini Mentor. This one is called Hunter and Dog 475-HD and can be found in the 2003 catalog. The catalog says it was serialized to #2003. Seems high but that is what it says. The handle is Burl and Rosewood.
