Hello and welcome to the Sunday Picture Show. Share your Buck knives with others by posting pictures of them here. New or old, plain or custom, user or safe queen, one or a collection, we love to see them all. This weekly tradition was started in 2010 by ItsTooEarly (Armand Hernandez) and Oregon (Steve Dunn). Help keep the tradition alive. Feel free to click that 'LIKE' but lets not let it replace discussing and complimenting each others knives. Enjoy the show. DeSotoSky (Roger Yost)

On This Day The Residence Act, adopted on July 16, 1790

The U.S. Constitution provided for a federal district under the exclusive jurisdiction of the U.S. Congress. Washington, D.C. is not a part of any U.S. state and is not one itself. (thanks bertl for the idea, I was going to do a D.C. theme this week but just didn't get it done. See post #21)

Buck 288 QuickFire c.2009. This is a model I do not see often. New in the 2010 Catalog and available in blue and black. The handle is glass filled Nylon and the blade is a drop point with 420HC steel. On my example I find the blade lock stiff. The spring loaded blade is launched very fast with a nudge on the thumbstud but a bit awkwardly for me because of my hand size, two handed worked better for me. Closing is also a two handed operation to operate the blade release mid spine while closing the blade against the spring tension. I don't think I'd put this one in my pocket without activating the lock. The blue version is last seen in the 2016 catalog and the black handle lasts thru 2020.

Here’s a favorite…. No one took my hints, so I bought this myself, partly for my 20th anniversary at work. Pretty good gift, I like it and carry it a lot! BUCK Custom Shop 112FG, oak, pins, standard 420HC, brass bolsters, engraved. Takes a good edge and easy to touch up - even using the bottom of a good coffee mug or the top of my driver’s window. ;)

Thanks for hosting the show, Roger.

I find the QuickFire to be a great knife but the ergonomics leave a lot to be desired in my opinion. I wouldn't carry it without the lock engaged either. The blade flies out pretty fast and it doesn't take much to get it moving. I'm glad that lock is there.

Thanks Roger for doing the Sunday Picture Show and a History Lesson. It’s sad that the residents of Washington D.C. have less representation in Congress than many states that have fewer inhabitants. The knife today is a take apart Aluminum Club Knife from the last (2018) Reunion. I changed the blade and the scales and added a lanyard anchor.View attachment 2254080

Here are a couple finger grooved 112.s with MOP scales from the old custom shop.
James, I saw those last night when I was looking through the pearl handled Buck thread...wonderful, rare, and you have two!
Here's the link for those who may want to see some other fantastic knives.
