Hello and welcome to the Sunday Picture Show. Share your Buck knives with others by posting pictures of them here. New or old, plain or custom, user or safe queen, one or a collection, we love to see them all. This weekly tradition was started in 2010 by ItsTooEarly (Armand Hernandez) and Oregon (Steve Dunn). Help keep the tradition alive. Feel free to click that 'LIKE' but lets not let it replace discussing and complimenting each others knives. Above all, enjoy the show. DeSotoSky (Roger Yost)

This week I tried to find a knife we have not seen too much of here on the forum and came up with the model 293. They were a series of 10 knives and can be found in the Special Projects lists from 1993 to 1999. These were made for Harley Davidson so they will not appear in the Buck catalogs. I am not aware of a name for the knife other than the 293 model designation. I do not think this model knife was ever used for any other Buck offering, just this series for HD. The theme of the knives is for the 5 variations of the Harley V-twin engines. For each engine there were 2 knife variations, the standard version with a mirror polished blade, black etching and a nicely colored laminated handle. The second version was fancier and called the Ultra. It sported gold etching instead of black and an inlay on the handle. They came in a nice wood display case and like most HD offerings, were made in large numbers so they are out there to find. The 293 model designation does not appear on either the knife or the COA.

293HD Flathead I qty 3000
293H1 Flathead I Ultra qty 500
293H2 Knucklehead II qty 3002
293H3 Knucklehead II Ultra qty 500
293H4 Panhead III qty 3000
293H5 Panhead III Ultra qty 501
293H6 Shovelhead IV qty 3000
293H9 Shovelhead IV Ultra 500
293H8 Evolution V qty 1648
293H7 Evolution V Ultra qty 500

My knife shown is the Evolution V. I do not think I have any of the Ultra versions in my collection to show but I will check tomorrow. Hopefully someone else will have some to show.

Thank you, Roger, again I commend and complement you for your efforts to bring information to us that enhances our enjoyment and knowledge of all things Buck. Thanks to all who post and comment to add to it.

I never had an interest in motorcycles but have wondered about the relationship between Buck and HD because of the large number of model issues with a HD theme.
I suppose it's because of the number of HD fans/riders and that HD requested and paid for it.
Chuck Buck and Joe Houser had an interest in and owned a classic car, but I don't know if any of the family owned/rode HD.

This Buck Nessmuk done for Thompson Center Arms was for their series of collectible knives by well known knife manufacturers that started in 1990, running for 16 years. The Buck Nessmuk is number 15 of that series. Each of the 250 knives were numbered. Mine is #146
