The Sunday Picture Show (June 13, 2021)

Roger, thanks for your dedicated efforts every Sunday...well through out the week for that matter. Thanks to everyone who posts and comments here to make this forum so enjoyable.

This is an older 'build-out', not sure when I purchased it, wishing now I'd had kept records. Oh well, it's unique, with very little bark on the stag and a mirror polished blade. Here it is for your viewing pleasure...

She's really sleek looking. That white really pops.

Cabela's sold an Alaskan Guide Model 110 that had a TDLC (Tungsten Diamond Like Carbon) coated blade. The PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating was applied in a vacuum chamber and has an HRC (Hardness Rockwell C scale) of 72. I moved one of the CPM S-30-V blades to a Model 560 handle. The second photo shows the true color and gloss better. TDLC is sometimes shortened to DLC.View attachment 1582248View attachment 1582249

Sorry,
They are buck 400 knives. Both BG-42 steel.
Both courtesy of Craig. THANKS!
The Elk handled one was made from a bg42 blank that Craig had, and was sent to Leroy Remer.
The other was a Joe Houser made knife.

Somewhere I have a really cool sheath that Mike made for the elk handled knife.

I always wanted a Master Series Vanguard, but then I have these... so what's the point.....?

Thanks.

Here is another possible B.O. mystery special. I believe it's based on the 0192B07-B 3662 Vanguard. Nickel silver, charcoal, ATS-34.
I think I have that one also. It was purchased from Buck in the same web specials sale in Nov 2016 as the first two knives I showed. I'll find it and verify later. /Roger

Old Hunter, if I did not see the 'Sword Brand" blade stamp I might of thought that was a Buck. That is a nice knife. My knife was customized by
Taylor Cutlery of Kingsport Tennessee.
It was sure sure easy in those days to be in awe of General Schwarzkopf, he was decisive, obviously in charge, and knew exactly what he wanted to accomplish. I had, and still have, great respect for the man. You have a nice knife (me too) and I’m glad to own it as I know you are to own yours. OH

I found it.
I change stuff around in my display case, and sometimes things get separated as a result.
