Hello and welcome to the Sunday Picture Show. Share your Buck knives with others by posting pictures of them here. New or old, plain or custom, user or safe queen, one or a collection, we love to see them all. This weekly tradition was started in 2010 by ItsTooEarly (Armand Hernandez) and Oregon (Steve Dunn). Help keep the tradition alive. Feel free to click that 'LIKE' but lets not let it replace discussing and complimenting each others knives. DeSotoSky (Roger Yost)

Today, June 23rd, is National Pink Flamingo Day.
"In 1957, Don Featherstone sculptured the first three-dimensional pink plastic flamingo, thereby making
affordable bad taste accessible to the American public"
Manufactured by Union Products in Leominster, Massachusetts from 1957 until 2006 when the rights and molds were sold to another company. They were first sold as a pair in the Sears Roebuck catalog for $2.76, a pair can be purchased today for under $20 on Amazon. Originals would have Featherstone's signature under the tail end of the mold. A pair consisted of two poses, one standing upright and one bent over feeding. National Pink Flamingo Day was created in 2007 by Dean Mazzaralla, the mayor of Leominster, MA, to honor Don Featherstone--the creator of the plastic lawn flamingo.
Flamingos are not genetically Pink, the feather coloring comes from their diet, shrimp, other tiny insects, and algae.
A group of Flamingos is called a "flamboyance".
For Pink Flamingo Day I have a 112 Ranger in Pink Smooth Bone with a Drop Point blade.
Brass frame with a Nickel Silver Inlay. Offered in 4 colors. Pink, Red, Blue, and Purple.
These were a 2017 issue thru Smoky Mountain with a quantity of 150 for each color.
It took me a good while to find the knife last night so I was in a crunch to get something posted.
That is why I didn't get the best pictures or the brass shined up....
