When I had almost a complete set of 100 series knives in black phenolic. The last one I needed was the Caper. Being discontinued they always sold for a little more than I was willing to spend at the time. When a Cherrywood Caper was put on the Web Specials page, I snagged it up. Ironically it didn’t really complete my set, but started me on my Cherrywood set.

I eventually found a nice used black phenolic Caper, and also a Stag one which started another set. Lol

Fantastic show everyone!

Well a bit of free time so here is my story.

At work Friday night about six hours into my shift I noticed my 110 was not in my pocket (now we are not supposed to use knives because to many folks have cut themselves so I don't use it much at work). Oh s--t, then my thought was did I have it when I left for work or did I leave it on the counter at home where I used it last??? My heart fell, that night my duties had me all over the plant, in and out of my truck. If it fell out then I'd never find it in the dark, so I would have to wait until the start of shift Saturday and retrace my steps in the light of day in hope of finding it.

As I left work my hope was I'd find it at home on the counter, when I got home no such luck. It was truly gone, and lost. Now I can buy another one from Buck as the 110 sport pro in S30V it's still in production. However, this one is special to me for a number of reasons. It was my first Aluminum framed 110 (it's so light) and makes a great knife for pocket carry. However, pocket clips don't work for me as at work I wear coverall over my pants and without fail the coveralls catch the clip and slip the knife out of my pocket. I've had to search for a dropped knife more than once, so I stopped carrying pocket clip knives. A solution was one of our forum members here Greg, AKA MT_Pokt used to make and install a new spring holder with a lanyard ring on 110's. Well Greg made me one that would fit the take apart 110 Sport (Thank you Greg), it's been the only EDC I have used for the last two years. So the knife I can replace the spring holder with lanyard ring I can not. Needless to say even after working 8, 12 hour day/nights in a row I was so upset I barely slept a wink.

I got into work about 45 minutes early to get a start on the search for my lost companion. My first stop was the fellow I turned the job over to in the morning. I ask him if he had seen a knife I had lost the previous shift. He said yes (Oh happy days) I put it on top of your car, did you find it? He had found it on the ground next to my car. Oh no, when I leave in the morning it's still dark and I did not see it. If he would have said that he put the knife on the top of my car when we did our handoff I would have had it. However, as I was driving out of the plant Saturday morning on the city street and made the first hard left turn that I heard something hit the side of my car, it must have been my knife falling off onto a very busy city street (Oh no). So I drive out of the plant and have a look see. I did not see it in the street, but driving I could only look at one side of the street or the other and was making folks upset driving so slow. I pulled over about 200 yards ahead of where I thought I heard the knife fall off (did someone already find it?). Well I was walking and looking, and walking and looking, almost at the end where the hard left turn was at the edge roadway was my knife!!!! I had found it, it had a bit of road rash, but a black sharpy made those almost invisible.

What a great story! Had me on the edge of my seat. Glad it had a happy ending.
