Mine had the same problem so I used a dremel tool to grind then polish the spey so that it no longer rubbed. I think it turned out nice, almost more polished/nicer than the other blades.Happy SPS

As discussed in another, dedicated, thread about the new 301/303's, it had some problems. Primarily that the spey couldn't be opened without opening the sheepsfoot first. Others sent theirs in and Buck fixed themI took a diamond hone to mine and now it works OK. This one has been next to my La-Z-Boy and gets used frequently for light duty. I like the plastic handle, It has a nice feel to it. Not too slick.
