501 Sunday Picture Show 1024X label.jpg
Hello and welcome to the Sunday Picture Show. Share your Buck knives with others by posting pictures of them here. New or old, plain or custom, user or safe queen, one or a collection, we love to see them all. This weekly tradition was started in 2010 by ItsTooEarly (Armand Hernandez) and Oregon (Steve Dunn). Help keep the tradition alive. Feel free to click that 'LIKE' but lets not let it replace discussing and complimenting each others knives. Above all, enjoy the show. DeSotoSky (Roger Yost)

Here are all the known (to me) variations of the ChinaBuck 389 Canoe.
23 plus 1 custom. You don't always have to spend a fortune to collect.

Here is one I almost forgot. SMKW Bill Lowen "Hooked on Fishing". Smooth bone handles with a nickel silver fish. These were a Willie Wonka style contest knife. There were 10 with a golden fish... you won a bunch of fishing stuff. Smoky Mountain ran this contest for quite a few years, a different ChinaBuck each year. Some of the patterns were quite unique to Buck. That makes 24 variations of the Canoe (that I have).

Thank you Thank you Thank you! This is great!!!!!!!! I'm really loving the multiple colors of jigged bone! And this thread answers a lot of questions for me -- especially about the orange jigged bone in my collection.

AND, it turns out there's another model currently on sale at Cabela's (looks like an exclusive), as part of a set. Honey Delrin. And... 3CR13... But it was new to me.

I don't have much for detailed photos at the moment, but here is a basic overview of my collection, in two photos (minus a couple duplicates and the Honey Delrin that just arrived).

Roger, thanks for hosting the SPS, again. Also, thanks to those who post photos and comment, making the SPS the wonderful addition to BF that it is.
I like the canoe pattern, it carries so well and can house a dual combo of blades.
The two I have are from a collaboration between Chuck Buck and AG Russell, they call it a canoe moose. I read that AG designed the knife and Chuck, of course, manufactured it. They were produced in a limited edition with stag, black pearl, and ivory. One blade is 154 CM, the other S30V. One is signed by Chuck the other by AG.
The one on the left I bought at a discount and is carried frequently.

Those are cool.
C&C had some cool things.
Hopefully there's more to come.

I was into Colonial's before I was into Buck's.
I've always liked carbon folders.
Here's a couple.

Thanks for the show once again Roger.
....and all those that contribute.

Buck 110 with Mt Fuji gold etch. c. 1988. Beautiful stag handles. Mt Fuji is the highest peak in Japan at 12,388'. It is located 60 miles SW of Tokyo and last erupted in 1707. My feeling is that the etch is by Taylor and the serial number location is typical as I have seen some Taylor etches serial numbered on the bolster. I can find no special projects listing for this knife but interestingly there are 3 other Taylor etched stag 110's on the 1989 Special Projects list, Emperor Hirohito, Elvis Presley, and one listed as "Hunter, Stag". I am guessing the Mt Fuji and Emperor Hirohito knives were for export and rare in the USA. The Elvis knife does pop up occasionally but I've not snagged one yet.

A big Thank you to Roger (DeSotoSky) for giving us this opportunity each and every Sunday to show and talk about our passion and that goes for everyone who comes here and posts pictures,
conversations, or to just view what we all do.

I have not been able to get my hands on the Mt Fuji Buck 110 but I do have the Elvis one Roger mentions. Not much etching on it but it's still a nice knife with great stag handles.

There is a "Stormin Norman" one very similar with stag that I have also seen. Great show so far today!

I certainly don't have the well-developed Buck collection that many others here have, but I do have a few Bucks beyond my Canoe collection. This is one of them -- a 110 drop-point with blue scales that my wife bought me for Father's day a few years ago... (I like having sentimental connections with my knives, whenever possible.)
