Here's a picture of my early Buck 112 for the Sunday Picture Show. The My Lai Massacre was definitely a dark spot in military history. I enlisted in the Navy in 1969 out of high school. My first duty station was at a dispensary at a shipyard in Portsmouth, VA. After that from 72-73, I went to Field Medical School Fleet Marine Force at Camp LeJeune and was attached to the 2nd Marine Division. I was deployed for a while with 3rd Battalion 6th Marine. Never was in country but was with a lot of men who had been. A lot of Marines carried mostly Camillus knives and a few KaBars. Some of the Corpsmen carried Buck 110 folders and I had a Case 2 blade Trapper in my pocket. Didn't really need the extra weight of the knife. God bless our Troops!
