Hello and welcome to the Sunday Picture Show. Share your Buck knives with others by posting pictures of them here. New or old, plain or custom, user or safe queen, one or a collection, we love to see them all. This weekly tradition was started in 2010 by ItsTooEarly (Armand Hernandez) and Oregon (Steve Dunn). Help keep the tradition alive. Feel free to click that 'LIKE' but lets not let it replace discussing and complimenting each others knives. Above all, enjoy the show. DeSotoSky (Roger Yost)

This week I have a question and a poll.
What makes a knife a "Buck Knife"? The blade or the handle? I was fishing in the bay awhile back and came across this aftermarket damascus tanto Selector blade. Before my brain had a chance to engage my finger hit the B-I-N. Well, I own it now. Not particularly a fan of tanto blades but I do very much like the pattern on this one. Shown below is the blade mounted in three different 429 Selector handles, Black, Olive Drab, and Orange.
I think I like the Black handle. Which do y'all like the best?

Remember the box I showed on last weeks SPS sitting on my front porch? Besides my March BOTM it contained this 110 Hunter Sport Pro. Lots of nice features, anodized aluminum frame, S30V blade, OD green canvas micarta, thumbstub and a pocket clip. I think I'm going to order the matching 112 (and try for the free camp mug). In the back of my mind I was thinking the damascus blade shown above would look nice in this handle and be an easy blade swap since it is a T10 screw pivot. Unfortunately the pivot pin does not quite fit thru the hole in the blade. Being curious, I tried the pin in two different Buck Selector blades. The pin would fit thru one but not the other. Any suggestions how best to hone out a few thou on the damascus blade to fit the 110 pin?

My answer is: the Clip Point.

I collect knives for more than 30 years. But the Clip Points of Buck knives are stunning. With all the little differences... Nothing amazes me more than a good old Buck Clip Point. I'd never ever buy a Buck without it.

What makes the knife, the blade or the handle was discussed several times at this forum. And there is no clear truth. The 110 is characterized by its mechanism, The 119 by the special blade shape - for example.
At least you have to decide it by yourself.
my small part for this picture show: some DM 110. Thanks for watching.

Good Morning to all. Roger, I like the olive drab with Damascus the best. Not sure what makes a Buck a Buck, maybe the steel.

I recently purchased this display tray, along with three more, from an online auction and was pleased to find the price "buttons" are original to '72 or '73 and in very good condition (after removing the old stickers and residue). Now all I need is a display case and a 311 Trapper. Unless I go for all 1972-73 production knives, as most of these pictured are later manufacture.

Thank you Roger for another Sunday Picture Show and to all who show photos and comment, thanks.

I like the blade in the black frame, also.

For me a knife has to have the name Buck on the blade to be a Buck knife. I prefer it to be stamped:thumbsup:

Years ago I ordered this Gen 5 build-out, it came without any etching. After thinking about it for days, I called and ask if they would/could correct it. The answer was yes so, I sent it in.
How is anyone to know if a knife is a Buck knife without the name. Sometimes, now-a-days, we can't be sure even if it has the name on it.

Happy SPS!

Here's an unlikely duo. I knew of the 303 solo, and had searched feverishly for many seasons to add one to my colection. I finally had the opportunity a few years ago and snatched it up. Then a year or so later this one showed up. I had no idea there was a 3 blade 303 made with the same buffalo and pearl, and I'm pretty well studied on the 303. After confirming its authenticity, I added it to the herd.

Some beautiful knives! I picked up a nice early 70's Hunter Axe Twin set yesterday at the Pigeon Forge knife show and had a great conversation with Barbara Merritt of the Buck Collectors Club.

I never heard of a single blade 303. Learned something new :)🎓 Those are great!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Ever since the two blade 301 Forum knife, I've thought a 303 with the same blade compliment would be worthwhile.

Another great Sunday Picture Show on the way! Thanks Roger and everyone else for posting pictures!
This is my Sunday contribution. The top 110 is S30V. The other 3 Bucks are 420HC. One thing they all have in common is that Buck did a really nice job on the fit and finish of these.
Now let's see more Bucks!

That is interesting. Every Selector blade that I have ever tried in a Legacy or Aluminum Club Knife has fit just fine. I would wrap a piece of sandpaper over something round and tapered like a rat tail file and slowly enlarge the hole working from both sides of the blade using the T-nut for a gauge. A Diamond file could work also.

What an interesting twin set. Do you think it is made up or factory? Looking at tthe axe, is the micarta handle full wrap?
I honestly don't know if it's factory, more research to do, the sheath is well made but does not have any Buck stamping on the leather or snaps. Everything fits well and fits into the box. If anyone has any info let me know. The axe handle has a full micarta wrap.
