Hello and welcome to the Sunday Picture Show. Share your Buck knives with others by posting pictures of them here. New or old, plain or custom, user or safe queen, one or a collection, we love to see them all. This weekly tradition was started in 2010 by ItsTooEarly (Armand Hernandez) and Oregon (Steve Dunn). Help keep the tradition alive. Feel free to click that 'LIKE' but lets not let it replace discussing and complimenting each others knives. Above all, enjoy the show. DeSotoSky (Roger Yost)
This week I have the March 2022 117 Brahma BOTM. Olive Drab canvas Micarta with a S35VN steel blade. 1 of 500
The leather handled tactical looking Brahmas were a short lived series. The 119 was introduced new in 2015 and lasted 4 years. The 117 Small Brahma was introduced a year later in 2016 lasted 2 years. 2017 saw 2 variations, the standard leather version and a limited edition of 250 called the Spike with an Elk/Micarta handle. In 2018 there was a Web Special of 16 knives with an Ironwood handle. There have been other 117 variations, Copper & Clad has offered both a Phenolic and Cocobolo version in the past, I think C&C also had a 5160. I know I've seen at least one Houser creation, I sure there were more variations.
117 TRIVIA
Buck has recycled the 117 number three times. The 117 folding knife from the 1940's. I believe it was a rebladed Camillus life raft knife.
The 117 Twinset with a 103 & 116. And finally, the present day 117 Brahma.
Buck does not seem able to settle on a definitive name. The leather handled version was cataloged as the Small Brahma, the Elk handled version was called the 'Spike', Copper and Clad sold their 117's as Small Specials and Mini 119's. My 117 BOTM is labeled simply BRAHMA on the box.

I know I'm a broken record on this but speaking as someone who has '20' knife boxes to store these are just plain unreasonable.
