Thank you for sharing, I did not know about that sculpture.A Civil War theme 903 Bowie for the show. Stone Mountain Bowie c.1984. A run of 250 for Smoky Mountain. Notice that the knife image is mirrored to the actual memorial. The largest high relief sculpture in the world depicting Confederate President Jefferson Davis, General Robert E. Lee, and General Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson. Both Lee and Jackson were present at the second Bull Run /Manassas battle. Soon to be extinct? I'm waiting for the history erasers to insist this be blown off the mountain.

Stone Mountain, Georgia, is the largest exposed granite mass in the world. It is 300 million years old and rises 700-825 feet above the surrounding terrain. The Confederate Memorial Carving is about 300 feet wide and 190 feet high. For scale, the head of Robert E. Lee is sixteen feet high. See historical photos of the carving here...

Nice. Clearly the knife on the right is a 102, would you classify the left as a 105? Are the handles Lignum Vitae?I'm sorry to hear about Tim, condolences to his friends and family.
My newest addition on the right. The belt loop is missing from the sheath, but it is otherwise in decent shape.

They are both lignum vitae. The one on the left is just a hair under 4.5" with the blade shape of a 102. I was told it is either a 124 Ranger or a custom order long 102.Nice. Clearly the knife on the right is a 102, would you classify the left as a 105? Are the handles Lignum Vitae?
I too am sorry to read this about a fellow collector. Did Tim have a presence here on BladeForums?
Still nice for us to hear about since I don’t think I caught the conversation in January, thanks for sharing. The tow older knives next to the 105 is a cool comparison.Generalist I'm old. Didn't we talk about that slightly longer knife back in January?
Yes, I believe so. It's nice finally having a lignum vitae "normal size" 102 to compare it to.Generalist I'm old. Didn't we talk about that slightly longer knife back in January?
The silence is deafening.Buck ever do any commemorative knives to honor Union Generals; Grant, Sherman, Sheridan, etc etc?
Yes, not of that era though. The silence is deafening.
