The Sunday Picture Show (May 9, 2021)

It appears this week is mostly survival knives and folding hunters, so...

I have a marksmen and a zippo on me, guess marksmen could count as a survival folder.....maybe....

(repost) I have a MFK. To me it looks like a short M9 but does not have a bayonet attachment on the handle. I believe the MFK to be the commercial retail version of the CUK. I found reference that about 4,000 blades were made by Buck about 1991. Mine is marked "Pat Pend/USA", etched not stamped. there is also the dolphin etched on the blade. My plastic sheath is without any markings. I wonder if these were about the last blades Buck did for Phrobis before they went separate ways. At separation, Buck bought out Phrobis's inventory and sold it off. My box shows that the Phrobis address was covered over with stickers. Later MFK's were made by Marto in Spain. Other pictures I have seen of the MFK show that it came with 3 different guards the user could interchange to suit. The knife breaks down easily into 4 parts. The handle, guard, and rod/nut on mine are lightweight plastic and feel kinda "cheap". Not sure how durable they are.187.MFK.0417 (1).JPG187.MFK.0417 (2).JPG187.MFK.0417 (3).JPG187.MFK.0417 (4).JPG187.MFK.0417 (5).jpg187.MFK.0417 (6).JPG187.MFK.0417 (7).JPG

A model 185 BuckMaster LT. Same blade as the 184 BuckMaster but with a skeletonized rubber coated handle. 6,000 of these were made from 1986-1989. Not my normal cup of tea but I drove a long way with money burning a hole in my pocket and the price was right.

Another good show behind us, thanks to all who contributed.
Hope to see you all again next week but feel free to continue to post and comment here until then.

Spoiler alert: Next week, any knife but you've got to say something about it, Any story or information counts.
That’s a very good idea of ‘Knife/knives with a Story’ I am sure every knife has one 👍
