Thanks for your comments jbmonkey . I did find mention of a Portugese map and read some about the tragedy of European diseases on native populations. That was true not only in the Americas but also for the Pacific Islanders. Hard to fit a lot of interesting stuff into a short quick bit... This post starts us on page 2.

Happy SPS

I remember visiting St. Augustine on a family vacation when I was 8 or 9. All I really remember is the fort (what else would a young boy remember ) and the fact about it being the oldest European settlement.

Nothing caper related, or very fancy this Sunday. Had this one in my pocket a couple of times this week.

I missed last week and yesterday my temp was 102.7. 101.5 today. I feel like somebody beat me up and put my head in a vise. Don't wish this on nobody.

I was sick last weekend. fever and all missed participating in the show as I was in bed suffering...... but this weekend uncle timbo was ill.......

'bout 12 months for me, give or take. The kids start school in late-August, and a week or so later something starts going around our house.
