The sweet satisfaction of a new knife

I like the GG but for pockets and barehand use it's a little rough, I think the CC SNG spear point is a good edc and a lego tanto bladed SMF in black oxide would be a pretty optimal hard use/beater

So I received my Strider SMF today, and was just so overwhelmingly pleased by finally having it in pocket. I'd been waiting for around a week to get it and after checking my tracking number roughly a trillion times, here it is! Just made me realize how intensely I've lusted after knives in the past, even if I'd already owned one before! Anyone else had that recently, where they were freaking the heck out about a blade they'd ordered that was en route? What do you laddies and lassies have incoming?
Woohoo! Congrats on your new SMF!

I have nothing on its way to me right now, but I completely know the feeling. It feels like it happens to some extent with EVERY knife or piece of gear I've had come in lately.

My worst case of it actually happened to revolve around receiving my SnG a couple months ago: it was/is my first folding Strider, which I'd been seriously lusting after for a good couple of months (huge thanks to the green forum for that ;) ), and on top of that I was lucky enough to be getting it in one of my ideal setups (1 run TAD SnG w/ digicam on black g10)...so yea waiting on that, I checked tracking countless times.

I'm glad I did: When tracking started to get wacky on me with false delivery attempts, and then a delay, and then finally changed to "DELIVERED" status (but while I was sitting outside my apartment waiting for my mail carrier!), how do I say this.... well, yea I kinda-sorta-totally lost my mind! When the mail carrier showed up and was empty handed, things only got worse...

I ended up waking up early and waiting outside the post office the morning after supposed "delivery" to hopefully pick up a package. After talking to 3 different people, they finally came up with the box. It was torn almost in half and there was this plastic sheet the USPS taped over one side of the box that was pretty much gone....it's a miracle (and benefit of excellent packing on the seller's part) that my SnG was in there! And with that, the knife-en-route-anxiety vaporized :)

Figured I'd share since my worst case of it happened around a Strider...I'm happy to say that my anxiety levels have been way lower since then ;)

So how about a pic of this new SMF? Would love to see it!

I can relate on every online order i've made, but mainly knives (most frequent purchased item/tool on the internet). Right now im going to my email and order status on knife center because im waiting on my olight r40 seeker that is getting shipped from olight to KC then to me. Im going crazy, so to pass time and bring up morale i just ordered a kershaw thermite so i can see my order on my way to me.

Oh that feeling when a knife is en route.. all those butterflies at the fingertips..
and the screen now says "USPS Tracking is unavailable for tracking to ____________"

I remember the day when I got the SnG I had. Woke up on Saturday and saw via tracking it had went from the main hub to a different zip code in town probably 10 miles away. Called the post office and amazingly someone answered. I told them the situation and they held it for me till I got there and did the unboxing in my front seat. I was NOT waiting for Monday to get it.

The first knife I ever bought off the exchange was a Gayle Bradley and was to be delivered on a Friday. It ended up at a post office 30 miles away. I called and again amazingly someone answered. I took a lonnnng lunch and drove out there to pick it up. I could not wait the extra day when it would've likely arrived on Saturday. Just how it is when it comes to my knives.

My Cruwear Military is out for delivery as we speak. Got that same good ole eager anticipation and nervousness of "will it get put in the right box?". This thread is making me want another SnG this time in CC configuration. Maybe next year...
