The `Sydney Opera`- steampunk meets modern art

hello together,

today I want to show you a very special knife, the `Sydney Opera´,
I thought, it should be shown here-

it is built by my fellow knifemaker stefan steigerwald,
he is a longtime-member of the ´DeutscheMessermacherGilde`.
most of his knives are ´out of the box´, very innovative and fantastic little mechanical marvels- crazy ones in the best sense...
and it is for sale now.

the Sydney Opera:
length about 22 inch,
blade only: 16 inch
mother of pearl-inlays,
steel: RWL and titan
frame: bronze and oak from an old cask

the wings (with real stones in titansettings) are adjustable,
the airpump lets the two windmills rotate,
the meteorite-inlay catches cosmic powers: wind, water, earth and fire...

and now have fun!

Stefan's knives are always a technical marvel to behold. And this one is no different. Wouldn't want to use it in almost any setting...but I'm pretty sure that's not the point either so it's ok

Love looking at this one and would love to examine it up close.
