Decided to make this Wharncliffe blade from ATS 34 and give it a bead blasted finish and a ceramic tumble. The scales are removable G10 wiht red liners and chain ring bolts.

Set up for horizontal belt carry makes it a nice and quick

Funny little blade in the hand.

that's a pretty large hole to put in a tang

Nah,

A lot bigger holes are found on the tangs of knives all the time. The key is to know where to place holes and where not to.

Now if someone where to use this knife as a pry bar then they have bigger problems then these holes. This style of fastener is used to hold on aluminum sprockets on mountain bikes and put under a lot of stress and takes a couple thousand pounds of pressure to cause the fastener to fail. So on a knife it really is overkill with red lipstick and will out last pins or corbies
