As many of you know, I visit the Busse Combat Shop whenever I get the chance to do so. The fact is, I LOVE IT THERE...except a New Yorker can't stay in a place with A TON of open space for too long
.
I feel so honored to be one of not more than five non-employees to ever enter
the Busse facility. The other four are the drivers for UPS, FedEx, USPS, and Jerry's Mom!!! And Mrs. Busse is the only other one that can get to Jerry's office!!!
Jerry and the Team have what, most certainly is, the most closed-shop policy in the industry. They're working on projects that I can't discuss in detail, here or anywhere else, but I can assure you that there are some incredibly cool things going on, as I have mentioned in previous posts.
When I have remarked in the past that
"I've been up for 27 hours straight," when visiting the shop, let me report that I was NOT alone.
The entire Busse Combat Team, consisting of killer craftsmen, are not only keeping the same hours, but HAVE been
keeping the same hours for the past six months. I guarantee you that if you
were given the opportunity to get inside the Busse Combat Shop and were made
privy to some of the hairy stuff that is going on there, you would not be
able to sleep either.
I feel extremely fortunate to be part of the Busse Combat Team, while at the same time enjoying the privilege of running my own
operation.
Over the past six months, Busse Combat has implemented a new management style
and production protocol. In this revamping of company policy, they have
completely redefined the term "team concept."
While Jerry and Jennifer certainly represent the coaches, all other team members work independently on whatever their specialized field may be and bring together a new level of synchronicity in manufacturing.
This new team concept is responsible for the
highest performance bladeware being produced today. Whereas, in the past, Busse has experienced long delays fueled by unexpected, urgent orders for
military units around the world, their improved production and scheduling
procedures should eliminate any future delays.
Team Busse Combat will, likewise, soon be caught up with all backorders. In light of these vast improvements, Busse Combat will soon be offering guaranteed ship dates
insured by a money back guarantee if the ship date is not met. The details
of this new policy will be published at a later date by the company.
