I really like this conversion! The thought put into it really shows and the finished product is a stunner!
 
My second post on this thread. I keep coming back to adore this beautiful specimen. That handle figure blends with that hamon line so perfectly
 
Love checking out your handle jobs... So, only finishing with linseed oil? How do you like it compared to other finishes? What do you mean by underground KOA?

And I'm only doing linseed oil. Typically 2 coats with a 1500 grit finish.

I like it because it looks very natural and also isn't toxic. Other finishes I've tried look to glossy. Im a fan of a more rustic look.

And as for the underground Koa, Mark from Burl source said that it's from the underground portion of the tree and was exposed to high mineral content Which gives it the unique color. Very cool stuff
