I don't know if you guys remember me but I'm the guy who said if I made it three months without smoking I was gonna get myself a Sebenza. My first. Well, tomorrow will be three months exactly but the postman left me "the box" today. I couldn't help my self, the restraint that I showed towards cigarettes flew out the window when it came to this little brown box containing an even littler white box with some stickers on it. I felt like a teenager again, fumbling through my first encounter with that devious devise known as a bra. I just wanted to get to what was inside!!!
Having come of age with the completion of my goal to get my hands on those beautiful titanium slabs I have to say....it was all worth it. Absolute Perfection...no burger nips here...
I know it's still early and I've only had it for a few hours but I have to say I think I'm in love.

(sorry for the pic, crappy cell phone)

I am glad you stuck to your guns, you had a great goal to shoot for. You will find the sebbie was definately worth the wait. Everytime you handle the sebenza, Remember what you did and went through to get it. I hope that you quit for good. Your health and your new sebbie thank you for it.

Congratulations on your achievement and reward

Now you can start smoking again :p

Nope. The second part of the deal is that I forfeit the knife to one of my buddies if I start back up.

Well in that case, best of luck to you. Seems you have it pretty much kicked anyway. :)

congratulations and great idea for motivation. Unfortunately the only habit that I have that I could save enough money to buy a sebenza if I quit is buying knives :D

congrats on the quit. i remember you posting up. here are my stats:

My Stats:
Your Quit Date is: 8/16/2009 9:00:00 AM
Time Smoke-Free: 144 days, 15 hours, 26 minutes and 30 seconds

Cigarettes NOT smoked: 4339
Lifetime Saved: 1 month, 3 days, 3 hours
Money Saved: $1,631.25

not smoking does not even bother me anymore. i do not even really think about it either.

congrats on the knife too. :)

Congrats! I applaud you for this tremendous achievement!

I might have to try this...The wife is offering :-)

Congrats dude on quitting and getting to the final goal! I smoke pipe but thats like once a month if that, never seen the addiction in tobacco...caffine however? use her well! :D:thumbup:

I'm a Sebenza virgin. :( :jerkit:

i'm the same, been saying I would buy a sebbie for over 5 years! but life got in the way, my time will come.

congrats!!! Good reward, good for motivation. keep it up.
Btw: you probably just started another addiction :D

Lots of us have Sebenzas, which is great.
Lots more should have your determination, which is even greater. Congratulations!

And enjoy that Sebenza, you really earned it! :D

indeed, kudos to you! your back up incentive to stay off the cigs is great, too. congratulations!

Congrats on a fine purchase and on making it this far! I see many people on a day to day basis paying for their years of smoking so good for you! Keep it up!

Thank you all for the kind words. I'm a little speechless.
One thing on the knife though, I can't really say much more than has already been said other than to comment on the blade. It's so beautiful, perfect grind lines and something I've never seen before. The bevel is almost mirror polished, wow, not a single machine mark. I own a few high end productions from Spyderco and Benchmade and none come even close to the attention to detail that this Sebbie exibits. It just blows me away, the bevel looks like some of my well loved knives that have seen ALOT of strop time. Absolutely smooth.
