A while back I spotted someone selling one of my Tactical Orange Peelers on Bladeforums, so I snatched it up. Here are the pics, as promised, as well as a couple of a tanto I finished and never sold. Both are 1/8" clay coated 1095. The tanto hamon wraps up and around the spine of the blade so it can be sharpened part of the way back, too. Hemp cord and black synthetic cordwrap. The TOP has curly koa I got from Tom Mayo eons ago, along with stainless steel pin and thong tube. I'm glad I have these of reminders of my old hobby!

Very nice ! What do you rub it with after you have etched it ? All I see to do with 1095 is crack it when I quench !

I would hand sand from 220 to 800-1000 grit, but not so carefully as to remove every scratch at every new grit. At 800-1000 I would lightly etch in ferric chloride, then rinse in TSP. Then I would go back to the last finest grit of paper I had used, either 800 or 1000, and do one more light wet sanding.
