Does anybody have exprience with a flashlight imported into the US by "Wicked Lasers"? They call it the "Torch". It appears to be about the size of a 2 D cell household flashlight. It is purported to produce 4,100 lumens with a 15 minute run time. It will start paper or a matchbook on fire in under 24 seconds. The best is scambeling a egg in under 2 minutes. If you have any info, lemme know.
Somebody should alert Smokey the Bear!

Well going by their specs. you could scramble 7.5 eggs [snicker] in 15 minutes.
The batts are rechargeable and a charger comes with it. Hey, don't get me wrong, I'm not their salesman, I'm just looking for info.

First of all, they forgot to salt and pepper the egg, so it's not going to be very good.

Second, I'm not sure why it's cooking an egg or setting paper on fire, etc. It seems to me that that indicates a lot of infrared emissions which aren't useful for seeing with the human eye.

Hey Gong...I know 15 minutes isn't much as far as run time goes but it really isn't that far out of line considering that the Surefire 10X
Dominator only gets 20 minutes on high. It's not long but it's a bright 15 minutes.

It's a Wicked Laser mass production version of a modified maglight that started off on www.candlepowerforums.com the original design is a maglight with rechargable cells a high wattage lamp and was mostly a stunner light. While it produces a huge amount of light (more than the Surefire Beast which runs $5,000) for only 15 minutes and with huge amounts of heat from both the batteries and lamp, it's not quite a practical EDC type light. If you wanted that size light with amazing output of maybe 800 lumens which is amazingly bright by any non 4,100 lumen light owners, then you can find the parts and instructions on the same website to make it out of a maglight using simple AA rechargables.

In summation it's a showoff light, look drunk guys I can set you on fire with my flashlight, but really I wouldn't buy one to use for taking walks and poking around, it's TOO much light.

Exactly. I got a Fenix L2D with a lowest setting of 12 lumens and a highest of 180. The 12 is fine for checking out the sidewalk in dark areas or signaling approaching cars that I'm crossing the street. The 180 would only glare-blind them. Not a good idea. :p

But I can see how pushing the technology is interesting, and the day will come when a couple thousand lumens may be available without so much heat it burns out the system. Surefire just came out with G2L and 6PL at 80 lumens, and seems to be converting the G2L head from Nitrolon to metal to handle some of the heat and extend the system life.

I have a Torch, made by Mac's Customs. With such a short runtime, its basically a spendy toy for those of us who own just about every other light on the planet. It does make a goofy ton of light, thats for sure. Specs are

-Under a 9" package (Around 8.5")
-Modified Five Mega Holder
-12x Intellect 2/3 A 1400Mah Cells (Tested to 1400+ Mah same as CBP1650's)
-10amp Tailswitch
-Metal Medium Stipple reflector
-Borafloat Lens
-Osram 64623 HLX Lamp
-GY6.35 Bi-Pin Holder
-Runtime This more of a See what a Mag can do show light. Runtime is around 10 minutes

Link.

Here's mine, with an added Fivemega head.

UGH, flashlight mods! i spent WAAAAAY too much money ($2000) playing around with hi powered flashlight mods. In the end i gave up cuz i got SICK of recharging over 100 batteries a day to satisfy my lumen addiction (albiet a short, 15 - 20 minute runtimes). Delved into hi end LED mods, cooked a $400 LED drop in one night when i accidently put in one battt in reverse......

:(

now i play with knives....
