The Traditional forum brings out the Minimalist in me,, how 'bout you?

Thanks for the contest Sunnyd! If I had to take a wild guess, I'd say that little Schrade was intended to be a Ducks Unlimited or Federal Duck Stamp issue. Obviously it didn't receive the DU or FDS shielding. Possibly it was stamped but the stamp was buffed off as was done with seconds and some overruns.

Here is the SDU104 circa 2003.

Edit: Now that TJ knows about this slippy, I think she qualifies for the contest. I have a soft spot in my heart for fixed blade gals!

TJ has an entry here and also contributes in this forum a lot. I'm sure her post was her way of yanking my chain a little..

Its OK cause she knows I'll just yank right back..:D

BTW Codger,

Thanks for the picture and explanation of how this little knife evolved.

Much Obliged,
Anthony

Me too! Thanks for the chance; these drawings are fun even if you don't win, sort of like scratch-off lottery tickets.

I recently came by an interesting Vic Classic. It has no scales and is printed with the "Hughes Aircraft" logo. Must have been some corporate promotional swag at one time.

I have lurked a fair bit here and what few posts I have had are more negative but I have not given up on the traditional knives. Please enter me as well. And hey- I have started carrying an Alox Electricians knife- If only I knew about the Electricians plus (with saw) when I made my order!!

Thank you

Well what the heck, nothing posted yet saying it's over :D

I pretty much always carry a big folder for heavy stuff, and a little one in my front pocket for all the day to day. Your right, the little ones have thier place, and it's really the majority of everyday cutting for most of us.

Thanks for the contest Sunnyd, if I missed it, no worries, just great of you to do it..

Thanks sm2 and all the rest of my fellow forumites for all the nice great comments here..

I have not heard from Grateful yet so I recon I will make up a thread for him pretty soon..

If'n any of y'all know where he hangs out other than this little part of the bf.com forest, please let me know..

Thanks Again,

Anthony

All right! Thanks alot sunnyd. Winning this contest is a little pick me up to my somewhat cloudy spirits. I am working a lot of overtime right now and it is starting to wear on me a bit.
But hey enough of that, thanks again and my best to everybody.

Jim
