The TRADITIONAL sunday picture show!!!!

This GEC Farmer Lock came to me with 3/16 to 1/4 inch of the tip very blunted and not ground well at all. All I have to work with is a Lansky Diamond set I've had going on four decades now. It took me a few hours of careful honing to bring the tip down to where it should be. I finished off with a Lansky Ceramic hone. Maybe I worked harder, not smarter LoL. There are easier quicker methods to shaping and sharpening and there are methods that result in sharper edges, but the Lansky is what I have and what I'm used to, and if this edge were any sharper I don't think I could stand it.

In most cases though, the Lansky is well suited for edge maintenance. This knife won't take nearly as much effort to restore the edge next time. I don't take the Lansky hones and rods apart. After carefully matching, aligning and straightening each hone and rod, I now store them setup and ready to go. That saves a ton of time before I even begin to sharpen a blade.

My needs are simple, beautiful traditional pocket knives and enough time to enjoy them!
