The TRADITIONAL sunday picture show!!!!

My father's day carry. Had a nice breakfast then took my boy down to the river to skip some rocks and hunt some new trout holes.

The moore maker lockback is by canal street and this one is covered with white tail antler.

We found some coal lumps in a dry creek bed....it will go in my sisters stocking this Christmas!

Here mine

Thanks Jack. Found them sorting through my dads garage. The Joker came from the outdoor shop in Pickering.

Fantastic :) I need to make a trip to Pickering, I was hoping to pick up a Joker for another member when I visited Whitby at Easter, but they didn't have any (seems Joker may have discontinued that model :( ) :thumbup:

Morning Paul :thumbup:

Oh sorry Jack I should say the Joker is a couple of years old.

Thanks Donn, I might try and make the trip anyway, just to see if they have any stock left. I'm lost as to why Joker would discontinue that great little knife, but I guess most of their knives are in stainless.

Beautiful pieces Donn, will you rehang them?

Not sure I'd like to. I've got this idea in my head of actually making up some new hafts myself The one on the right actually has a quite a nick in the edge so it's probably not worth it but the other three are in good nick.
The largest one will of come from RAF Burtonwood; what was at one time the largest airbase in western Europe. They auctioned off alot of gear after WWII.

You should do that. Those old forged heads are far superior to most BnQ bought hatchets and axes. For years I struggled on with modern shop bought ones that wouldn't hold edges, when I moved up to the island I found an old forged head rusting in a corner and put it on a new hickory handle and it's much much better. I didn't realise what a good axe was capable of and how oblivious I had been until I used that old one. :)

Aye I've heard that about old axes. It would be a little project though as I've not lived in a house with a real fire for 10 years, and over here we don't really have the opportunities for trips into the wilderness. :(

Unfortunately there's not much wilderness left in the UK:(

I took the boys to our local beach the other day - it might be June but it's still pretty cold here;
