Thank you Ratbert. Yes, it was mint in original package when I located it. The clear packaging could not be saved. It had deteriorated until it could no longer hold even the weight of the knife, it would break thru just by picking it up. I knew it was vintage but have not been able to determine it's age. Any ideas?

I've posted all these before but from now on I'm calling for Sowbelly Sunday (at least for me).View attachment 1093052 View attachment 1093053

- wowser......what a lovely collection, Alan - simply stunning and well chosen collection of sumptuous handle materials too :thumbsup:

I blame The Porch and all you guys for luring me into the LionSteel family........subtly and gently sliding these under my nose and subconsciously forcing me to buy more...

A great shame I had one stolen, with real sweet popcorn stag, but the remaining members are testament to a highly impressive production folder - each one razor sharp, dead centre and walk n talk to aspire to...

I've posted about this before a few times, including last St Patrick's Day I think  Imperial took over Jowika of Listowel, Ireland at the end of the 70's, and only had them a couple of years I think. You should be able to find the dates OK, so your knife was made in a fairly brief window. They took over Richards of Sheffield around the same time, but only began stamping some of the knives 'Imperial England' towards the end (1982). If you can't find dates, PM me, and I'll dig them out

Edit - The period you're looking at is 1978-1982, and probably towards the end of that period for that tang-stamp
