And I am amazed. I can only assume it's the humidity and climate of England vs the humidity and climate of the Southeastern US

Cause any carbon steel knife carried regularly for 4+ years would be black instead of grey/silverish in color. Like jet black, unless you militant about polishing it on the regular

I noticed my stag 48 had rust and needed to be cleaned just yesterday after just sitting on my tv stand for the past week
Yes, my Hartshead Barlow dates from 2019, gets carried most days, and doesn't get babied. It only gets a drop of oil now and then :D You have to be pretty neglectful to get rust here :thumbsup:

That photo is a bit bright, which kind of bleaches out the patina, but the blade is grey rather than black. THe spring, liners, and bolsters are also made from the same steel :)
